Learn how load management supports efficient electric vehicle charging by distributing available power effectively across active charge points.
The following scenarios demonstrate how load management works. These examples assume a site has six 22 kW charge points installed and 30 kW of spare electrical capacity available.
When only one vehicle is connected, the load management system will provide the maximum available power to that charge point.
*This is limited by the charge point’s power rating, which in this example is 22 kW, and assumes the vehicle can accept that level of charging power.
When all six charge points are in use, the load management system will distribute the available power equally across them. In this example, each vehicle would receive 5 kW of charging power.
Regardless of how many vehicles are connected, the load management system will allocate power dynamically to maximise charging performance while ensuring the site’s available electrical capacity is not exceeded.
